Federal Indian Minerals Office

In order to provide improved services to individual Navajo Indian mineral owners, the Department of The Interior established the Federal Indian Minerals Office (FIMO) FIMO consists of staff from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), and Minerals Management Service (MMS). They report to the FIMO Director who in turn reports to the Indian Minerals Steering Committee.
